Such an undertaking would help, on one hand, to support the production chains both in Syria and in Lebanon, and on the other, to pave the way to a positive complementarity between Lebanon and Syria and vis-à-vis the rest of the Arab and Mediterranean countries, in the post-war period.

A recent study34 has considered the evolution of the situation in Syria in a systematic way, assessing the impacts of each configuration on Lebanon under two hypotheses: a passive no-political attitude or a proactive one. The following paragraphs are based on that study.
